About Me

My name is Ben Clarkson and I've been in the screen printing industry for most of my adult life. I grew up in my father's offset printing shop, which he started in 1988. After working for his company off and on over the years, I decided to transition in the direction of screen printing.

In 2007, I started at a screen print shop in Phoenix, AZ, where I was an entry-level customer service representative. Over roughly the next 7 years, I learned everything I could about screen printing and became the office manager. From there, I moved on to become the production manager of another shop in Phoenix, which I stayed at for about a year, until I moved to Oshkosh, WI.

In Oshkosh, I was the production manager of a shop for 3 years. After that, I moved to Raleigh, NC, but stayed on with the company in Oshkosh, working remotely as a project manager/production consultant for 2 years. That company was sold and I was made general manager by the new owners. Within 8 months, the change in ownership severely affected the company and I moved on to a shop in Raleigh, where I work today.

Over my time at all these different shops, I have learned nearly endless information and have been able to put together an extremely vast tool kit of skills pertaining to the screen printing industry (all thanks to those who were willing to teach me) and now I want to offer those skills to you.

Although primarily started to provide retail-quality, screen printed textiles (t-shirts) and flatstock (posters) items of my own making to the world, Plague Press also exists to provide many other services. I offer custom screen printing, color separations, film output, and screen exposing/developing to the world. If you'd like to work together, please reach out!
